Is Shingles Rescue Plus an Effective Shingles Treatment?

November 24th, 2009 by Stephanie

The Shingles Rescue Plus cream by Peaceful Mountain is an herbal cream created for shingles outbreaks to help alleviate the pain and itching that most often come with a Shingles outbreak. While many different creams and lotions are on the market, this one is made with herbs that are often associated with skin conditions.

With many creams and shingles treatments, you should always check with your doctor before using any type of medication for treatment of shingles, whether it is a prescription or natural treatment. The Shingles Rescue Plus cream has Poke (anti-viral), St. John’s Wort (quells nerve pain), Chaparral (anti-herpetic), Arnica and Willow (pain relief), Lavender and Yarrow (anti-spasmodic), Comfrey (skin repair), and Vitamin C (ph balance) in an Aloe Vera Gel in it as the main ingredients. While some people have reported that it has helped, it doesn’t seem to completely alleviate symptoms associated with a shingles outbreak.

Also, if you are suffering from Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN), it doesn’t seem to work as well as prescription medications due to the fact that this cream is a topical solution more for itching and not deep nerve pain that can be associated with PHN and severe shingles outbreaks.

When you experience a shingles outbreak, as you know, it can be very painful. But, it can also drive you insane with itching. One of the more common complaints is about the non-stop itching, which due to lots of scratching can lead to the open sores and raw skin that can take more time to heal. Many different creams and treatments use a variety of ingredients to help calm the itching from the outbreak. This can help you deal with at least one aspect of having the condition when it does flare up.

The reason for the pain and itching is because during a shingles outbreak, the nerves are either damaged or destroyed which causes the painful response from your brain. The symptoms are described as itching, burning, aching, sharp or tingling sensations and sensitivity to temperature or touch. Even a slight breeze can cause a painful response to the affected area.

By using a cream or ointment that is designed to help heal the skin and relieve some of the painful responses of your body, you can help control or subdue the itching and other conditions that can be caused by PHN and shingles outbreaks.
